Después de tres años sin grabar…” Así anunciaba A1A Productions el regreso de David David en enero de 2001: merengue típico regional, “¡Merengue Típico Encendido!”, con el acordeón y la güira al frente."Finally!! After three years without recording…" That's how A1A Productions announced David David's return in January 2001: regional merengue típico — "¡Merengue Típico Encendido!" — with accordion and güira up front.

La promoción destacaba tres temas: Reboleo, El Muelú y Haciendo el Amor. Casi todo el disco es de la pluma de David Polanco (David David), con un homenaje a los Tejada y una versión típica de “Por Mujeres Como Tú”.The promo singled out three tracks: Reboleo, El Muelú and Haciendo el Amor. Nearly the whole album was written by David Polanco (David David), with a tribute to the Tejada family and a típico take on "Por Mujeres Como Tú".

En la portadilla, David dedica la producción “a Ti Señor Jesús, Rey de Reyes, porque me has dado la fe, la paciencia y la sabiduría para realizar este proyecto que es un sueño hecho realidad”, y a su primo hermano Hugo Marte, con un agradecimiento a Miguel Ángel del grupo Rey de Reyes.In the liner notes David dedicates the record "to You, Lord Jesus, King of Kings, because You gave me the faith, the patience and the wisdom to make this project, a dream come true" — and to his cousin Hugo Marte, with thanks to Miguel Ángel of the group Rey de Reyes.
